Green Up Day 2006 - Follow Up

A small, but dedicated group of SWVT TU members, working collectively with
members of other area groups and organizations, hauled several truck loads full
of garbage out of the upper Battenkill in Manchester, VT on Friday, May 5, 2006.

We pulled several shopping carts, wooden pallets, lots of plastic, glass and
aluminum cans and bottles, hunks of rusty metal junk, plastic buckets, a ladder,
construction garbage, and much more out of the water and streamside vegetation.
And that was only from a short, stretch of water below the Hand Motors
downstream to the Bagel Works.

Thanks again for your help this year with Green Up Day. Next year, we'll try to
recruit a bigger garbage pickup team and increase our haul. If we get enough
interest and volunteers, perhaps we'll even send different clean-up/Green Up
teams to different local streams.
